Book Announcement: Asma - An Icon of Rights and Resistance - A Tribute to Asma Jahangir

Pakistan India Peoples’ Forum of Peace and Democracy brings to you Asma An Icon of Rights and Resistance: Tribute to Asma Jahangir. Asma was one of the founding members for the Forum since its inception in Lahore in 1994.

The book is a collection of tributes, published and unpublished articles written within 100 hours of her passing away.

This is the work of young comrades, some of whom had only heard of her. These young friends of Asma, the youth of India and Pakistan, identified with the relentless battle of this peace warrior against the hate mongering between and within these two countries; with the narrative of peace and resistance against war mongering, communal violence, fundamentalism, dictatorship, patriarchy and many other structures that clamp us down and which we fear to repudiate. The book is a talisman to strip away the fear, to enter the fearless dance with the sun.
