Mr. Anil Dave, the Union Environment Minister accompanied with Mr. Vijay Rupani, the Chief Minister of Gujarat and Industrialists announced the lifting of the Moratorium from Vapi, Ankleshwar & Vatva. Significantly this announcement happened in the absence of pollution affected people while their representatives Mr. Salimbhai Patel, Jayeshbhai Patel and others fighting for environment protection were being detained.

The Union environment Minister guarantees two things: the appeasement of polluting industries and irreversible damage to the environment.

The imposition of Moratorium during the UPA Government was a quiet affair that stands in stark contrast today when the BJP government lifted the moratorium in a grand show in the presence of Industrialists from Vapi, Ankleshwar & Vatva. Announcement in such a way clearly tells loudly and openly to the people of India that Government’s environment ministry is not for protection of environment and instead has an agenda ‘Of the Industrial Lobby, By the Industrial Lobby and For the Industrial Lobby.’

The Chief Minister of Gujarat & Environment Minister, Government of India now stands responsible with the polluting industries of the area for the immediate repercussion of such hasty decision on the environment of the area.

Let me remind the Environment Ministry and Chief Minister of Gujarat that the ground water of these areas is severely polluted and no concrete steps are taken for the remedial measures to decontaminate the ground water.

Who is going to take the remedial steps to decontaminate the ground water? Does Mr. Modi Government’s “Swachh Bharat Mission†have any plan to decontaminate the ground water of these industrial clusters?

I request Mr. Anil Dave and Mr. Vijay Rupani to read the report of Central Pollution Control Board “GROUND WATER POLLUTION IN LUNA, DUDHAWADA, PILUDARA AREA NEAR VADODARA, GUJARAT†, July 2016 and “REPORT ON EFFLUENT CONVEYANCE SYSTEM (M/S ECPL) FOR NANDESARI INDUSTRIAL AREA AND INDUSTRIES LOCATED NEAR VADODARA, GUJARAT†, February 2010 and visit this area with the press and answer the questions of the press there after.

The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change refuses to take policy decision to protect and improve the environment; it should drop the pretense of its existence and merge itself with the Ministry of Industry. The State Pollution Control Boards and Central Pollution Control Board should also now be merged with the Industries Commissionerate.

· આ વિસૠતારોમાંથી પૠરદૂષણ દૂર કરવાના ઠોસ પગલાં ભરવાની કોઈ જાહેરાત નહીં અને અસરગૠરસૠત લોકોના પૠરતિનિધિઓને (સલિમભાઈ પટેલ, જયેશભાઇ પટેલ) પૉલિસ ચોકીમાં ડીટેઈન કરૠયા.

· વાહ રે ‘પૠરદૂષણની ટેકેદાર’ કૠદરત સામે ‘યૠધૠધ’ કરવા નીકળેલી સરકાર વાહ.

· આ વિસૠતારોનૠં પૠરદૂષણ દૂર કરવાના ઠોસ પગલાં ભરવાને બદલે યેનકેન પૠરકારે ‘મોરોટોરિયમ’ (વિસૠતારમાં નવા ઉધોગો અને મોજૂદ ઉધોગોની ઉતૠપાદન કૠષમતા વધારવા પર પૠરતિબંધ) ઉઠાવવાના મો-માંથા વગરના નિરૠણયનો અમે સખત વિરોધ કરીઠછે. – રોહિત પૠરજાપતિ

· અમે તેથી જ માંગળી કરીઠછે કે પરૠયાવરણ મંતૠરાલયને બંધ કરી તેને ઉધૠયોગ મંતૠરાલયમાં ભેળવી દેવામાં આવે. પોલૠશન કંટૠરોલ બોરૠડને ઉધૠયોગ કમિશનરની ઓફિસમાં ભેળવી દેવામાં આવે.

· રસૠતા પર અને કોરૠટમાં અમારો સંઘરૠષ પૠરદૂષણ ફેલાવતા ઉધોગો અને તેમની સરકાર સામે ચાલૠરહશે.

જી.પી.સી.બી. છેલૠલા ઘણા સમયથી પરૠયાવરણ કાયદાઓનો ખૠલૠલંમ ખૠલૠલા ભંગ કરતાં ઉદૠયોગોને અવારનવાર કૠલોઠર નોટિસો આપતી આવી હોવા છતાં વાપી, અંકલેશૠવર, વટવા, વગેરે ઔધોગિક વિસૠતારોની પૠરદૂષણની માતૠરામાં ગૠણાતૠમક ફેરફાર જણાતો નથી. અને તેથી જ આ વિસૠતારમાં આવેલા પૠરદૂષણ ફેલાવતા ઉદૠયોગો અને તેની ‘ટૠરીટમેનૠટ ફેસિલિટીઠ’ સામે આકરા પગલાં ભરવાની જરૂર છે. તેથી યેનકેન પૠરકારે વાપી, અંકલેશૠવર અને વટવામાંથી ‘મોરોટોરિયમ’ (વિસૠતારમાં નવા ઉધોગો અને મોજૂદ ઉધોગોની ઉતૠપાદન કૠષમતા વધારવા પર પૠરતિબંધ) ઉઠાવવાના મો-માંથા વગરના નિરૠણયનો અમે સખત વિરોધ કરીઠછે.

આ વિસૠતારના અસરગૠરસૠત લોકોની અને પરૠયાવરણના મૠદૠદે કામ કરતાં સંગઠનોની નહી પરંતૠ‘પરૠયાવરણની પૠરદૂષણ સામે હાર છે.’

અમે તેથી જ માંગળી કરીઠછે કે પરૠયાવરણ મંતૠરાલયને બંધ કરી તેને ઉધૠયોગ મંતૠરાલયમાં ભેળવી દેવામાં આવે, પોલૠશન કંટૠરોલ બોરૠડને ઉધૠયોગ કમિશનરની ઓફિસમાં ભેળવી દેવામાં આવે.
